top 5 tuesday – series i want to start this year

hello beautiful blogging family! how are you all doing? i hope you had a great start into january and your reading’s going well! last week i did my first top 5 tuesday post and i am really looking forward to all the next tuesdays. top 5 tuesday was created by shanah over at Bionic Book Worm. please go and check out her blog, because she’s awesome!

this week’s topic is: top 5 series i want to start this year. now, i have this resolution, that i want to finish my started series before i start new ones and i will be working towards that goal. i don’t like to leave that much time between reading books and i love binge reading if i am invested in the story. but i know myself too and there are definitely series that i want to start this year too. and maybe i won’t finish them and that’s ok. i just want to start them and see, if they are for me. so, these are the series i want to give a try this year.

1.) “a court of thornes and roses” by sarah j. maas

i am currently reading the “throne of glass” series by sarah j. maas and so far i am enjoying it. i definitely want to check out ACOTAR after that, because i want to know what it’s all about. some people love it, some hate it. i want to know where i am with my opinion. and since i now own the trilogy i am ready to go. (thank you kathy ❤ 😀 )

2.) “anna and the french kiss” by stephanie perkins

i own the whole trilogy since over a year now and it’s definitely something i want to give a try this year. i heard a lot of good things and it seems like a cute contemporary trilogy that i would like. we’ll see about that. 😀

3.) “chaos walking” by patrick ness

this series has also been following me since over a year and i really want to give it a try. i just need to get into the dystopian mood and then i guess i’ll binge read it. or not. but i am pretty sure that i will like it 😀

4.) “mistborn” by brandon sanderson

the “mistborn” trilogy by brandon sanderson has also been on my radar for quite a while now. i have only read “the reckoners” trilogy by him, but that one i really liked. i am not so sure about the “mistborn” trilogy because i heard mixed things. but i definitely want to give it at least a try and see if it’s something for me or not.

5.) “grisha verse” by leigh bardugo

i got myself the grisha trilogy by leigh bardugo for christmas. i got the box with the new editions and i love these so much. they are gorgeous! ❤ and since i read “six of crows” and “crooked kingdom” in 2017, i wanted to give this trilogy a chance too.

that’s my list guys. there are probably a couple more series i want to give a try this year, but first things first, right? 😀 have you read any of these? which one would you recommend? which one is on your list too? let me know! 🙂

  1. I was going to go capslock on your butt if ACOTAR wasn’t on here, haha! 😀 You’re welcome, girl ❤
I had heard of Anna and the French Kiss but I didn't know it was a trilogy? Like, a YA contemporary trilogy?! I need to check that out.. Or, maybe I don't since I'm already drowning in books as it is.. Y'know what! I WON'T. I'm going to wait and see how enthusiastic you are about them, ha!

  3. You really need to read ACOTAR – such such a good series! Although I’ve read and enjoyed all of the above. If you like Fantasy – Annette Marie’s red winter trilogy is another I would recommend too 🙂 Its one of my favourites!

  4. I really enjoyed the Grisha-verse series when I read it, but for some reason, the more time passes, the more unremarkable it is to me. I think that’s why I haven’t picked up Six of Crows yet.

I want to read the ACoTaR series this year, too!

I hope you are able to finish some of your current series so you can start some of these!

  5. Oh wow! I’m so happy that I’m the only one who hasn’t read Mistborn! It’s number one on my list! ACOTAR is one that I almost stopped reading. There were things happening that I wasn’t ok with (mental, physical abuse) but trust me, it’s all explained throughout books one and two and they are AMAZING! Happy reading!
    Thanks for participating 🙂

  6. Oooh I have yet to read the Grisha series too and I didn’t even think about adding it. I loved Leigh Bardugo’s writing in WW:Warbringer so I’ll have to check it out. 🙂
