top 5 tuesday – books on my 2018 bucket list

hello my lovely blog family! how are you all doing? i was thinking hard about what memes or topics or posts i want to do this year. and i will definitely do the www wednesday, because that’s the best way to update you on my reading. but i also wanted to do a another meme and i decided, that i will join the top 5 tuesday, which was created by shanah over at Bionic Book Worm – yay!

i really love, that it’s just a top 5 because in the end i was really struggling with the top 10 tuesday. sometimes you just don’t have 10 books right? 😀 so yeah, i am so happy to join shanah and all the other bloggers in this journey and i’d say, let’s just get to it. the first topic for 2018 is: top 5 books on my 2018 bucket list. i will be talking about books, that will be released this year and that i am really anticipating and also preordering as soon as possible.

1.) #3 in “the nevernight chronicle” by jay kristoff

i am not sure, if part three of the trilogy will be released this year, since there is no cover or title yet. but i am hoping very much for it, since the other books also came out every september one year after the other. i just really need to know, how it all ends and i want that action in my life!

2.) “obsidio” by amie kaufman & jay kristoff

i read “illuminae” at the beginning of 2017 and really, really enjoyed it. i then stopped the series, because i wanted to binge read it. so before “obsidio” comes out on march 18th, i want to reread “illuminae”, then start “gemina” and go straight to “obsidio”. binge reading is just awesome and i can’t wait to get more of that world!

3.) “leah on the offbeat” by becky albertalli

i loved “simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda” last year. it was such a great read. that’s why i can’t wait to get my hands on this book about leah. i hope it’s going to be amazing. april 24th can’t come sooner! 😀

4.) “meet cute” by various authors

yes, your eyes are alright 😀 i am putting an anthology on my bucket list 😀 i don’t really like anthologies, but i need to read this one. why you ask? because “the holiday” is one of my most favorite romcoms and i love the “meet cute” moment. and i am a sucker for love stories, so sign me up for this! 😀

5.) “what if it’s us” by becky albertalli & adam silvera

so, unfortunately there is no cover yet for this book, but i can’t wait for october 2nd. i discovered both becky albertalli and adam silvera last year and i am so excited for their upcoming book. i know it will be sooooo amazing!!! ❤

so that’s my first “top 5 tuesday” list for 2018 – yay! i can’t wait to have these books in my hand and as you can see there is a pattern with jay kristoff and becky albertalli haha. well, what can i say? i love their stories 😀 let me know about your bucket list this year! 🙂

  1. This list…… yes!!! Nevernight (along with Illuminae) is one of my all time favourite series!! I have become slightly obsessed with anything Jay Kristoff!! I hope you enjoy all of these when you get to them!

  2. I was watching a booktube video about upcoming LGBT+ releases and when Cece mentioned Lean On The Offbeat and What If It’s Us I got THIS CLOSE to making noises a 28 year old should not make at the MENTION of a book but I am just SO freaking excited about both those books??? I even tried contacting the UK publisher, seeing if they would send me a review copy of Leah but they don’t ship outside the UK *cries for eternity*.

As for Jay Kristoff, I haven’t read a single book by him yet but I’ll be getting a review copy of the German translation of Godsgrave in April, so I’ll be reading the Nevernight series sooner rather than later and I can’t wait! 😀

    • haha i can imagine your scream! 😀 i was just like: “NO F***ING WAY* 😀 😀 it’s so sad about the publisher. we really are not in the right country considering this 😦

yay, i am excited about your thoughts and especially how you think about the translation!

      • I’m still hoping that SOMEHOW I end up getting a copy. I got on their master mailing list so maybe it’ll work out after all – I haven’t given up hope just yet!

German translations can be such a hit or miss for me! I’ll read one book and it feels like it’s written with young teenagers in mind and the next one seems to be targeted towards older teenagers. I really hope Nevernight will be the latter, but from what I’ve heard there are quite some violent scenes in there, so I’d assume it would be targeted to older teenagers!

  3. First of all, I love the cute header illustrations you have! I’m really intrigued with Meet Cute as well, I’ve heard many buzz around the internet about this book, and although I’m not a huge fan of romance-y novels, I think some of my friends would enjoy this book 🙂
