WWW wednesday #19

let’s update you guys on my reading! 🙂

www wednesday is hosted by sam on Taking on a World of Words. everyone can participate in answering the three questions below and posting a link on sams website or just answer the questions on her post, if you do not have a blog.

the three questions are:

1.) What are you currently reading?
2.) What did you recently finish reading?
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

title: heir of fire
author: sarah j. maas
progress: 167/565 pages
status: weeeell, i am a little disappointed. in the first 100 pages nothing special happened and i missed the feeling of “throne of glass” and “crown of midnight”. last night i read 50 more pages and it’s slowly getting exciting. but nothing i really hoped for. we’ll see, there is still some pages to go.

title: oliver twist
author: charles dickens
progress: 107/531 pages
status: i am really, really enjoying this so far. i love oliver and the writing is so good. i really get lost to hear about oliver’s story. it’s easy to read and i am so happy, i picked this up.

Dragonfly in Amber - Diana Gabaldon

title: dragonfly in amber
author: diana gabaldon
progress: 6%
status: sooo, i didn’t plan on this to happen, but i am really determined to finish this book this time. i go it with my audioble credit and listening to it as an audiobook. i hope i will enjoy it more than at the beginning of the year. currently i am still relistening to the part i have already read but i acutally enjoy it so far. 🙂

What did you recently finish reading?

title: the maze runner
james dashner
rating: ⭐⭐⭐

thoughts: i picked this up, because i needed a new audiobook and it was available at my library. i have seen the movie many times by now, because let’s be honest, i love dylan o’brien. 😀 but the book was very different. there were so many things changed in the movie adaptation, i was surprised. all in all it was an ok book for me, but nothing special.

title: kiss me in new york
author: catherine rider
rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
thoughts: this was a cute christmas book set in one of the best cities on earth. my review will be up this friday 🙂

title: the ocean at the end of the lane
neil gaiman
rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5

thoughts: this was my second neil gaiman book. and i have to say, it was weird. but good weird. and a lot of WTF moments. but it was also weird. hmm…

What do you think you’ll read next?

title: mr. penumbra’s 24-hour bookstore
author: robin sloan
edition: paperback
thoughts: this came as a traveling book to me and i want to read it this month so it can travel to the next one.

title: if you dare
author: a.r. torre
edition: paperback
thoughts: this also came as a traveling book to me and i want to read it in december, so i can cross of another book series i fully read in 2017. yay!

  1. I remember borrowing that Neil Gaiman book from the library years ago and being soooo confused by it. I don’t think I ever finished it. I really would like to try it again some time, but I’ve read bits of his writing here and there over the years and I’m just not sure if it’s for me!

  2. Absolutely loved An Ocean at the End of the Lane, especially because of how weird it was! And completely agree on Heir of Fire – didn’t care much for it at all and wished it all stopped at Crown of Midnight 😦
I’m hoping to read Kiss Me In New York soon!
    Great post ^^

  3. Ooh, I’m curious about your review on Kiss me in NY!
Also, have to say that Heir of Fire only REALLY picks up in the second part of the first part – whoop that makes complete sense, Kathy. And you’ll fly through those last chapters! Probably? If you’re like me? Idk. I did?
