happy wednesday people! ❤ how are you all doing? this week’s topic could go either way. i am doing this spontanously 😀 we’ll see what comes out of it 😀

1.) joe goldberg from “you” by caroline kepnes

youyou

joe is a killer. he is a stalker. he is crazy. but i love him! i rooted for him during this book and i don’t even know why, because it’s wrong to root for him. but caroline kepnes wrote this book so well, that i couldn’t do otherwise. i didn’t like beck at all. it was all joe for me!

2.) aidan from “illuminae” by amie kaufman & jay kristoff

illuminae2

aidan is a computer. crazy computer. but i loooooved him! he was my favorite while reading “illuminae” at the beginning of the year!

3.) august flynn from “this savage song” & “our dark duet” by v.e. schwab

thissavagesong

august is a monster. a very bad monster. but he also has a very human side. he wants to be a human. he doesn’t want to be bad. he wants to be good. and that’s what i love about him! he needs all the love there is! he’s a monster that can kill many many people, but i love him so much! 🙂

4.) kaz brekker from “six of crows” and “crooked kingdom” by leigh bardugo

crookedkingdom

i think i don’t need to tell you how much i love kaz. you all know it! and this guy is a thief. he is a criminal. he is a guy who doesn’t let anyone in. he is bad. but i love him. he is somebody i want to hug all the time! he had such a bad past and i cried while reading his story. i know why he is the way he is. but someone needs to give him some love. please let it be me! 😀

5.) ove from “a man called ove” by fredrik backman

AManCalledOve

ove is a grumpy old man. he is annoying, he is unfriendly, he says bad things. he is not likeable at all. but i love grumpy, old man. ok, that sounds wrong. but it is, how it is. my grandpa was a grumpy man, to most people. but to me he was always nice. he was the best person on earth. i loved him with all my heart. that’s why i have a special place for grumpy, old man in my heart. and ove hit that spot right from the start. his story is heartbreaking. i sobbed my eyes out and my love for him grew more and more throughout the book. hach, ove! 🙂 ❤

that is my list. it went surprisingly well haha 😀 let me know your characters, that you shouldn’t like but actually really love! 🙂

  1. Aidan is my favourite character in the Illuminae Trilogy. Can’t wait for the next book to come out. Have you tried the audiobooks? It has an entire cast of voice actors and ‘special effects’! It’s definitely one of my favourite audiobooks.

      1. I kinda did both at the same time 🙂 If you like the format of the book S. by Doug Dorst and JJ Abrams might interest you. It’s taking the entire “different formats to tell a story” thing that Illuminae has to a whole different level.

  2. YES to all of these! ❤ I completley agree with AIDAN and Kaz especially – they're both such great, complex characters. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! ❤
