i was not a fan of this sequel. i already didn’t like the first book and now this book was from adam’s point of view, which was hard for me, because i do not like him. i was not satisfied how this book progressed and the ending was way too fast.

i really love sarah winman’s writing. it’s compeletely different of what i am used to, but it’s wonderful. unfortunately i couldn’t get into the the book. it just picked up for me at half point, which was too late. the characters are great though and it’s a bittersweet story about friendship and relationships, that will make you cry in the end.

  1. Wow you read a great number of books this month!! The only one of those books that I have read is Where She Went. I thought the sequel was pretty unnecessary, but I enjoyed it all the same.

      1. Yeah I’ve heard a lot of people have problems with it. I read it 3 or 4 years ago so it’s not that fresh in my mind, but I do remember liking it.

  2. I didn’t enjoy Where She Went either. I don’t think the sequel to If I Stay was necessary.
It broke my heart a bit seeing that you didn’t completely love Crooked Kingdom but I’m getting over it. You read a lot this month and you read some good books!

  3. I really enjoyed the Hating Game when I read it a while back – it was fun and light and just like you said, ended up putting a goofy grin on my face every other page 💖💕 those are all some pretty great books – I have read a few but haven’t done reviews for all lol and I don’t even know how to catch up with that lol 😂

      1. Haha each time I end up not writing a review I feel like I’m committing some sort of a blogging crime lol I just didn’t have the time to sit and think about writing reviews this month lol hopefully I will catch up 🤞

      2. And there are more fun things like weekly meme’s and tags to do lol other than sitting there in front of a computer and thinking how can I make this book sound as good as it already is without giving away the plot lol 😂

  4. So many great books this month!! After reading my first Adam Silvera book last week I’m excited for They Both Die at The End. I’ve heard some mixed things about it but I’m glad you liked it, it makes me more excited 😀

  5. Great wrap-up! I never picked up where she went as I couldn’t stand If I stay whatsoever. I literally had to google what the sad parts were because I didn’t feel any emotion towards it 😂

  6. August was kind of a mess for me. I finished my summer class and then fall term started up again so I didn’t have much time to read.

I did just start They Both Die At the End! I love seeing more and more people give it high ratings. Hopefully, I don’t cry too much. But knowing Adam Silvera, it’ll happen

Which book did you read as an audiobook? 👀

  7. Soooo many good books on here! I loved Crooked Kingdom, although not as much as the first book. And Carry On is one of my favorite reads of this year! I adored Simon and Baz’s dynamic 😀 Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is possibly one of my favorite, if not my favorite, YA contemporary. It’s the book that started my travel bug. I have yet to read Red Rising, but I’ve read mostly positive reviews for it, so that’s a book to look forward to reading. I’m really curious about The Hating Game and Kindred Spirits. They both seem like enjoyable reads. So happy you managed to read some fantastic books last month. Hope September goes just as well for you! Happy reading 😀

    1. aaaawww, thank you so much! ❤
i definitely agree with you, "six of crows" was better for me than "crooked kingdom".
and as for traveling, "amy & roger" is a peeeerfect read. it makes me want to sit in the car and just start driving, which is strange, since i don't even own a car 😀
i hope you will like "red rising". as for "kindred spirits", it's just a short novella, but since you loved "carry on", i am pretty sure you'll enjoy this cute little thing! 🙂
and please read "the hating game". OMG it is so much fun! 😀

      1. Yay! And lol. Amy & Roger did that to me too. I was only 14 and already planning a huge cross-country road trip because of it LOL XD
And oh! Always love it when a book turns out to be a novella 🙂 I’ll have to try to get to that one soon.
I could always use a good, fun contemporary! 😀
